TRAVEL INFORMATION

It is up to each student to make their own travel arrangements to/from the UK

AIR TRAVEL

Arrival

All students will be met by UK SCHOLARS staff who will be easily identified and will help students with their bag and accompany them to their accommodation, on the following dates and during the time frames below.  Please note that students should only travel with 1 suitcase due to luggage space on coaches.  You can find our suggested packing list here, and we offer laundry facilities at all locations.

Session 1: Wednesday 30 June

Session 2: Sunday 25 July

Arrival into London Heathrow Airport must be between 0800 - 1600 (4pm) to be met by our staff.

We have coaches leaving from Edinburgh, Stansted and John F Kennedy International Airports to transport our students to each campus. We ask that all students book flights that arrive as early as possible to ensure their safe arrival. UK SCHOLARS need also to consider the travel time from the airport to campus hence cut off arrival times.

Uniformed representatives of UK SCHOLARS will be at the airport to welcome all students and accompany them to their London accommodation.

Please note: Due to the large number of students arriving at the airport, your son/daughter may have to wait for other student’s flights to come in. We will try to make this wait as short and comfortable as we can.

Departure

All students will be escorted to the airport. Students are asked to book flights that depart on the following dates before 12 noon (12:00).  Flights as early as 07:00 (7am) are suitable for departure.

Session 1: Wednesday 21 July

Session 2: Sunday 15 August

Our staff leave London Heathrow Airport at 1400 (2pm) on departure days.  Any students departing after this time must be old enough to wait alone, check themselves in and fly with the airline. There may be a small group of students who can wait safely together.

It will be your responsibility to provide UK SCHOLARS with a detailed breakdown of your travel arrangements. Once all travel arrangements have been confirmed please fill in the travel information form. (For those booking international flights please also note that if you have had to acquire entry clearance (visa) for your son or daughter in order for them to travel to the UK this summer, you will not be able to purchase an open-ended flight ticket.)

Students travelling as an "unaccompanied minor" with their airline must book a flight within the time frames stated.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the level of social distancing still in effect by June 2021, we may need to charge a small additional fee for all airport pick-up and drop-offs. This will purely be to cover any additional costs if more buses are required to adhere to social distancing laws at that time.

Arriving outwith coach times or other forms of arrival

For any students arriving outwith the airports or times stated above or arriving by train, we can arrange a private car at an additional cost. Please contact us to arrange this.

If you are planning on dropping your son or daughter off directly at the campus please contact us for driving directions if necessary.
